Why pixels, not characters
Google truncates titles at roughly 600 pixels on desktop, not at a fixed character count. “WWW” takes three times the width of “iii”, so a 60-character title can fit or be cut depending on the letters. This tool measures text with the same font Google uses.
Tips for a snippet that gets clicks
- Put the main keyword near the start of the title.
- One clear benefit beats a list of keywords.
- Use the description as ad copy: what the user gets and why now.
- Every page needs a unique title and description.
